Do your kids have trouble winding down at night? When my girls are fighting sleep, I like to tell them stories that are relaxing, sort of like mini-guided visualizations. When telling these stories I often make them up on the fly, include relaxing words and imagery, and use a calming tone of voice.
I thought it would be fun to create a series of mini sleepy time stories that can be printed out and read as bedtime stories to help kids wind down. This story is about a bed that turns into a comfy cloud and takes a trip through the starry night sky. In the story, you can fill in your little one’s name where it has a blank spot to make it more personal. Feel free to add more to it based on what interests them and helps them feel relaxed. I created two stories, one for boys and one for girls, but feel free to let your little one pick whichever one they like. 🙂
Download the stories and print them out. Then cut along the lines and tape or staple the pages together into a mini-book. Read the story at bedtime or during the day when you want to help your little one relax.
